How it works
Organisations donate materials destined for landfill
You get affordable craft materials
Have fun making new things while supporting your community
Why play matters
Outdoor play has decreased by 71% in one generation.
Free play, without adult direction, helps children develop independence, social skills and emotional management.
Opportunities for our children to play are essential for a healthy, happy childhood.

About us
In the words of George Bernard Shaw “We don’t stop playing because we get old, we get old because we stop playing.”

It can feel daunting to let your child play without adult direction, but doing so can help them develop emotionally, physically and feel more independent.
While we encourage children in our groups to play without adult intervention, there are always trained adults on-hand to make sure that your children are safe and supported.
Budgeting is hard, especially when costs are rising so quickly. That is why most of our projects are completely free to join we may even be able to help you find extra support. Your purchases from our scrapstore (online and in-person) help us run amazing activities for kids aged 0-99.
The scrapstore is our pay-as-you-feel shop, we take donations from local organisations and you turn those donations into amazing craft projects.
All items are pay-as-you feel, you don't need to pay if you cannot afford, or you can pay it forward and help someone else get creative.
If you're short on inspiration, why not order one of our craft kits from our website, or come along to our fortnightly craft group and share skills, ideas and inspiration.
At BPCN, there is something for everyone. Find your local project and discover the joy of creativity and play!
